Michael has just recently been named by Golf Digest as one of "America's Best Young Teachers" in the November 2016 issue of the publication.  This list is comprised of 100 teaching professionals across the country under the age of 40.  Michael is one of only 3 professionals listed from the state of Pennsylvania.

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Michael spent most of his youth playing soccer and baseball. Golf has always been in his life, but it wasn't until high school when he started competing.  He became a successful junior golfer, winning many local events. He also competed on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT), and the Allstar Junior Golf Tour (AJGT) winning one national event at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia.

From 2004-2007 Michael attended Stetson University and played NCAA Division 1 golf for the Hatters. During his three years at Stetson, he recorded several Top 25 finishes. While at Stetson he also played in a one day mini tour event in Orlando, Florida, winning with a one under par 71. In 2006 Michael was invited to compete in the prestigious Palmetto Amateur and had the opportunity to play with Scott Brown, who now is a PGA Tour member. Some of the other current PGA Tour players he has played with or against includes; Fabian Gomez, Jonas Blixt, Russell Knox, Matt Every, and Billy Hurley.  After college, Michael played the mini tour circuit for two seasons as a member of the NGA Hooters Tour, Florida Professional Golf Tour, and the Moonlight Golf Tour. Maryland was still in his blood however he ended up moving back to Maryland to become a State Trooper for the Maryland State Police before getting back into the golf business as a club professional.

Many teaching professionals have served as inspirational, but the most prominent of these instructors has been GOLF Magazine TOP 100 Teacher, Ted Sheftic. It was with Ted that Michael first realized his love for teaching and knew this would be a career. In addition to learning from Ted, he has taken time to observe as many other teaching professionals and golf biomechanists as possible. Some of these include GOLF Magazine TOP 100 Teachers, Mike Adams, Dr. David Wright, Cheryl Anderson, Steve Bosdosh, Jason Carbone, Mike Malaska, and EA Tischler.  Michael has also spent time with some of the best biomechanists in the world including; Dr. Young-Hoo Kwon (mentor to Chris Como - Tiger Woods swing coach), Dr. Sasho Mackenzie, and Dr. Robert Neal. All of these instructors have had an impact on how he works with all of his students.
